Pafuri Walking Trail – Part 1

Hosted by Wildnerness Safaris we went on a walking trail which included 3 nights accommodation in a tented camp in the Makuleke Concession, also known as Pafuri, in the northern Kruger National Park. It is perhaps the best area for walking in the entire Park and is blessed not only with exceptional biodiversity but also spectacular scenery, seasonally high densities of many large mammal species, a feeling of wilderness and remoteness, and a sense of history. There is no better way to explore this magnificent area than on foot. After a walk and a stop on one of the kopjes which provided us with a stunning view of the area, we arrived in our tented camp. Soon the camp was lit by laterns and a crackling fire. After dinner we had a wonderful sleep accompanied by the sounds of the bush.
